Audio innovations for hybrid work – introducing the Cisco Table Microphone Pro and enhanced audio interoperability for Cisco video devices

Poor sound quality and background noise is reported to be among the top frustrations in meetings, even more so than poor video quality. With hybrid work being the new normal, and organizations equipping their offices to create great meeting experiences for all employees, impeccable audio should be on top of the list to avoid meeting fatigue. Cisco Table Microphone Pro Cisco Devices Audio Intelligence Audio interoperability

The best hybrid meetings are those where we can focus on what needs to get done. No crackling sounds, no distracting background noises, no one asking in-room meeting participants to move closer to the microphone. Cisco has been a leader in video conferencing room audio for decades and we have recently enhanced our award-winning hardware with industry leading AI-based noise removal. Today we are taking the conference room audio experience to the next level as well as offering our customers and partners more choice.

Introducing the Cisco Table Microphone Pro

Announced at Integrated Systems Europe 2023 (ISE), the Table Microphone Pro is a new digital microphone that uses a multi-directional voice capture pattern to ensure that all in-room participants are heard equally, regardless of where they are seated in the room. Beyond ensuring more inclusive video meetings and reducing meeting fatigue through high quality, natural sound for end users, the Table Microphone Pro is also the obvious choice for IT, allowing seamless, scalable, and secure deployments.

Cisco Table Microphone Pro features:

Built in audio intelligence

With the addition of Cisco’s advanced audio intelligence capabilities and four built-in microphone beams, you get the best audio experience for a variety of meeting rooms – whether that be your regular conference rooms, the boardroom or more custom deployments. No matter the scenario or meeting room, the Table Microphone Pro will give you distraction-free, immersive and crystal-clear audio in hybrid meetings.

Easy to set up, easier to scale

Deploying conferencing microphones often creates a lot of extra complexity for IT, as they require custom set-ups, extra cabling, and can be hard to integrate with the video conferencing device. Well, not the Table Microphone Pro. Powered by Ethernet connectivity, the Table Microphone Pro enables a simple and flexible set-up using Audio over IP. Easy to set up and scale, simply plug-and-play with your Cisco video devices for a first-class audio experience, completely free of distractions.

Centralized cloud management

With the same centralized cloud management you’ve grown to know and love through Control Hub, the microphone is easy to configure, customize and monitor– all in the same place as your other Cisco collaboration devices.

Media encryption

Security is at the forefront of everything we do at Cisco. That’s why the Cisco Table Microphone Pro uses a variety of security controls, including media encryption, to protect your data on the way to the cloud.

New audio interoperability enhancements

At Cisco, we are committed to an open hardware ecosystem, allowing our customers the ultimate in choice and the option to customize their meeting spaces to best suit their needs and budget. Therefore, we are thrilled to announce that we are now extending our video device interoperability with Audio over IP for third-party microphones, using the AES67 standard. This brings even more flexibility to your meeting spaces, being easy to install, configure and scale. Additionally, this protects your current microphone investments by allowing for integration with Cisco video devices, as well as optimizing costs – no need for additional converters or long cables.

This integration is available for select Cisco video devices, so that you can easily tailor your meeting spaces with a simple, Ethernet-based set up. Among the first of several partners, Cisco is supporting integration with Shure’s microphones, including the MXA920 Ceiling Array or MXA710 Linear Array.

Experience the ultimate collaboration devices for hybrid work

We pride ourselves in being open and interoperable, whether that is allowing you to join any third-party meeting from our devices, collaborating with your favorite productivity applications, or bringing more flexibility into your meeting rooms through smart hardware integrations. If you are at ISE 23, make sure you come and see all of these innovations for yourself at booth 2M200!
