Webex RoomOS update: December 2019

Dec 16, 2019 — Juan Gallardo

We are fast approaching the holiday season, which is the ultimate time for getting some well-deserved rest and relaxation, and catching up with friends and family. The holiday season is also about giving. And this year, the Webex RoomOS team are gifting you with great new features that will make collaboration merry and festive, including a whiteboard improvement for DX that has been highly requested!

Annotate Anywhere

Wouldn’t it be great if you could annotate anywhere on your devices? We thought so too, so we made it happen. In this release of Webex RoomOS, we have expanded our annotation opportunities with Annotate Anywhere. Previously, you were only able to annotate on content that had been shared from a laptop or computer. Now we are making it possible to annotate on content in more ways, such as opening a file from a space, or on a webpage accessed by a web app. This allows for a more seamless collaboration experience.

Whiteboard Improvements for DX

I love the Cisco Webex DX. It’s the epitome of sleek, hardworking and smart – it enables me to connect and collaborate with people from remote corners of the world, all from the comfort of my own desk. Now, we have made it possible with real-time whiteboard collaboration between the DX and the Webex Board, through Webex Meetings, which is a feature that has been highly requested by our customers! With this new feature you can enhance your meeting presentations with visuals you can change as you go. Learn more here.

New Workflow for Easily Saving a Whiteboard Session

The best things in life are simple. The smell of coffee in the morning, hugging a loved one, the feeling of grass under your feet… And collaboration is no different – great collaboration solutions should be simple to deploy and utilize. This is why we have released a new feature that makes it easier for you to save and store your whiteboard sessions in Webex Teams spaces and through email. This new workflow equips you with new information, icons and screen displays that streamline and make explicit different actions and outcomes. Saving your work has never been easier. New Invited Section on Participant List

Last month, we made it possible to add a participant in the cloud to your call. We have now extended this feature so that you can not only see who has joined the meeting, but also who is invited but has not yet accepted. This is also valuable in other ways – simply speaking the “invited” section will list all users and devices that have a join button and can join at any time.

That’s it for December. But keep your eyes open – a new blog entry will be published soon, going over all the highlights of 2019. Happy holidays!
