Webex for Defense HCS-D is a cloud-based IL5 authorized communications platform integrating voice, video, data, and mobility products and applications for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and their contractors.

Webex for Defense HCS-D software as a service includes the following features and functionalities:

  • Cloud-based calling
  • Voice messaging
  • Instant messaging and presence (“IM&P”)
  • Mobile and remote access (“MRA”)
  • Emergency call handling
  • Audio and video conferencing

The New Buying Model

Webex for Defense HCS-D incorporates a dedicated offer for a secure, integrated, and modern collaboration experience across meetings, messaging, and calling. Built on a collaboration subscription model, Webex for Defense HCS-D provides improved offer parity with Webex commercial options, delivers simplified cloud provisioning while maintaining delivery of strong, risk-based security that meets defense standards.

Webex for Defense HCS-D gives you access to tailored collaboration options while allowing you to choose different deployment models, all with a single subscription. The base subscription provides you with a business-class voice and video solution, as well as our instant messaging and presence solution, Cisco Jabber (softphone, video, instant messaging, presence). If you need a full unified communications solution that includes meetings, messaging, and calling, a second option gives you Cisco Meeting Server in addition to the business class voice, video, and messaging. Flex plans give you the choice of two different models, licenses for each user (Named User) or licenses for your organization (Enterprise Agreement), giving you the flexibility, you need now and in the future.

Named User Deployment

A “Named User” is an Employee given access to the cloud services. Named Users receive unique accounts that must not be shared or used by anyone other than the designated Employee. The benefit of Named User licensing is being able to start with a small number of licenses and add services and users at your own pace.

Enterprise Agreement Deployment

The Enterprise Agreement (EA) buying model, governed by the Cisco Enterprise Agreement Program terms, gives you licenses tailored to your organization with opportunities for growth. Each agreement includes a 20% growth for expansion without agreement changes.

Benefits

  • Move from on-prem to IL5 cloud-hosted calling at your own pace.
  • Bundling meetings and calling provides better pricing.
  • Migrate easily to future enhancements and new functionality.

Conclusion

Webex for Defense HCS-D is continually expanding to meet the needs of our customers. As a trusted leader in technology and security, we place our customer’s security and privacy foremost in every product we design and every feature we deliver—and with our mature development methodology and transparent privacy posture, our Webex security advantage goes beyond the specifications of DoD IL5.
