Cisco and Google join forces to transform the future of hybrid work

Webex and Google are building towards a future where technology fades into the background and transforms many aspects of ‘future of work’. This is especially true for the frontline workforce that is critical for different industries and is reinventing to work better, safer, and smarter.

Webex Expert on Demand on Glass

Webex today announced the public preview of its native meeting experience for Glass Enterprise Edition 2 (Glass), a lightweight eye wearable device with a transparent display developed by Google. Webex Expert on Demand on Glass provides an immersive collaboration experience that supports natural voice commands, gestures on touchpad, and head movements to accomplish routine tasks.

The hands-free, voice activated experience in Webex Expert on Demand takes advantage of Glass’s powerful multicore processor, enhanced camera quality, increased power and battery life, and transparent head mounted display to provide digital information in users’ line of sight to deliver hybrid work experiences.

A more connected and seamless way for frontline workers to collaborate

With Webex Expert on Demand on Glass, Frontline workers in various industries such as warehouses, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and more can provide a first-person point of view that helps them collaborate, enabling a more connected and seamless way to work together. Operators on a factory floor can use the solution to guide them through various activities to improve workflows during their shift. On the other hand, doctors can use the platform to view shared medical information, consult with other healthcare specialists, and record operations for educational and research related purposes.

Webex Expert on Demand on Glass guides workers through complex tasks, supports real time guidance, and shares documents with real time annotation leading to faster resolutions, improved experiences, and enhanced safety. The experience on Glass fully augments reality by showing messages, video calls, and notifications from colleagues, experts, and others in the users’ field of view.

Webex helping to power the connected workforce

As distance loses meaning, both employees and enterprises can find the right fit based on skills, potential, and passion powered by technology, and not location. As we endeavor to better connect our tomorrow, Cisco’s continued partnership with Google through Webex Expert on Demand provides enterprise grade video collaboration tools on Glass to power this new age of Connected Workforce.
