Making hybrid work more magical: Webex devices now support Apple AirPlay

At WebexOne in October, we announced our mobile-first experience with Webex for iPad. Since then, our dedicated in-house Apple development and design team has continued to innovate. One of the keys to success in hybrid work is providing flexibility for employees in when, where, and how they work… enabled by the best devices and apps.

At Cisco, to create truly magical user experiences, we focus on building native integrations that let people use their favorite devices to get their work done. Today, I am proud to announce that AirPlay will be part of the Webex experience!

By integrating AirPlay on Webex devices, we deliver the flexibility that today’s workers want and need. People can now effortlessly collaborate, share, and enjoy their content — at work and at home — with the devices they love and use every day.

With AirPlay support coming to Webex devices including the Room, Desk, and Board series, users can now wirelessly connect with iPhone, iPad, and Mac to share content or mirror their screens in a meeting with colleagues — whether they’re together in a meeting room, or remote in a video call. Gone are the days of fumbling with cords or worrying about the connections.

The privacy and security built into Webex and AirPlay ensures users share to the correct screen with confidence. Administrators can enforce a simple and secure PIN challenge during setup, and can set it to appear each time a user attempts to share content.

I am excited to deliver a whole new level of collaboration that embraces our commitment to hybrid work using AirPlay with Webex devices…whether users are at home, in the office, or anywhere in-between.

This modern, delightful sharing experience will be globally available on supported Webex devices beginning in June 2022. We think our customers are going to love it.

We believe Apple products are truly world class and set the highest example for how products should be built for business. We value our partnership — which began six years ago with the introduction of Fast Lane for iOS and now 90% of Cisco customers have access — and we look forward to our continued work together.
