Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant

As far as accolades go, being named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant is by far the most coveted. Cisco just has been recognized for the 12th year in a row 1. Cisco Webex is furthest in “Completeness of Vision” and highest in “Ability to Execute.” You can read the full report here2.

Cisco Webex Three Times a Leader in 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions

I know I can speak for everyone here at Webex when I say, we are pretty proud of this recognition. It’s further validation of our vision, the fact that customers love us, and how well we have executed over the past several years.

We believe our strengths in delivering amazing video experiences with our broad video room systems portfolio, true hybrid services, trust and security, and our cognitive capabilities are just some the reasons customers love Webex.

Room Systems

Webex video devices can cover any collaboration space – from home office, huddle spaces, small or large conference rooms or full immersive experiences. All these devices work in unison with our software and a global network to consistently deliver amazing experiences for our users.

Hybrid Services

Last year, we released Webex Edge Audio Edge Connect to our Video Mesh. This allows large enterprises to leverage their investments in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM) to reduce their PSTN costs. By using Edge Connect, large enterprises not only get security but also a much improved quality of service. Cisco’s multi-year investments in the global backbone allows users anywhere in the world to experience high quality media. Video Mesh is a true hybrid solution where neither users nor collaboration administrators have to worry about whether their meeting is hosted on a media node on premises or in the cloud. It just simply works.

Most Trusted Platform

Over the years, we’ve has gained the trust of users and administrators as a secure, reliable, global platform. Media is encrypted by default which is why there isn’t an option to enable or disable media encryption. We’ve also invested heavily to harden the platform and implement industry-leading security features, empowering users to add additional layers of security – all without compromising user experience.

Predictable Roadmaps

We have a stellar track record in publishing roadmaps and executing them. We are very proud of the fact that every month – Webex releases amazing new features to its customers globally. This clockwork-like execution has helped build trust with our customers and partners and one of the many reasons why Webex is highest on “Ability to Execute” axis.

Cognitive Collaboration

We also unveiled People Insights last year. This feature removes the need to have introductions and ice-breakers in a meeting by allowing participants to look up other participants and their public profile. If you are within the same organization, you also get to see reporting hierarchies and titles. Our industry leading devices have the Webex Assistant and Face Recognition features that make joining and participating in meetings a breeze. Our secure face recognition uses AI/ML on our devices instead of sending your biometrics to the cloud.

In addition, we recently completed our acquisition of Voicea – a leader in Active Speech Recognition (ASR) technology which can turn talk into action. Just prior to announcing our intent to acquire the company, we partnered with them to integrate EVA – Voicea’s assistant – into Webex allowing us to deliver transformative experiences like live transcriptions and translations, meeting summary, notes and action items. These features build upon the best scheduling and join experiences to provide the industry’s best in-meeting and post meeting experiences.

While we are very proud of being a three-time Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant and we are just getting started. In fact, our roadmap is well underway, and we expect to show more exciting features and integration across our entire portfolio that help customers realize the power of Webex.
