Introducing unrivaled Webex Calling experiences at Cisco Live 2023

The Webex Calling team just capped off an exciting week at Cisco Live, the largest annual gathering of the Cisco community. We look forward to this event each year because it gives us an opportunity to speak to our customers, learn about their business challenges and what we must deliver for the future. Over 17,000 attendees joined us this year over the course of 4 days, for several groundbreaking Webex announcements, keynotes, iTalks, immersive live demos, and much more.

Unprecedented growth for Webex Calling

We are excited to announce that Webex Calling now connects over 11M+ users (and growing) worldwide. Thank you to everyone who continues to trust us with your calling needs on a daily basis.

The next evolution in mobility

In 2021, we unveiled Webex Go, industry-first innovation that enables a secure, compliant, and private mobility solution for BYOD. This year at Cisco Live we joined forces with AT&T to announce the next evolution in mobility suited for enterprises looking for a fully secure, compliant, and end-to-end managed business mobile device for their on-the-go workforce.

Webex Go with AT&T extends Webex Calling capabilities to AT&T-provided data plans and mobile phones via a single business phone number that becomes your identity for all your Webex Communications. Users have access to powerful Webex calling features natively from their mobile dialer, or can enjoy an immersive collaboration experience by elevating a voice call to the Webex App. Webex Go with AT&T will be available later this year. You can read Lorrissa Horton’s blog to learn more.

Unmatched cloud availability

Webex Calling is built on a geographically distributed infrastructure that delivers proven 99.999% availability. But many organizations need calling to be available 100% of the time, even during extreme events like natural disasters. At Cisco Live we launched an essential feature for these organizations: Enhanced Survivability for Dedicated Instance. Enhanced Survivability, an industry-first, leverages a local survivability node to ensure that the complete calling feature set, including integrations with essential systems like EPIC, continue to be available even when the cloud is not. Enhanced Survivability supports Dedicated Instance and is available today.

Showcasing our innovation live and in person

Our latest Webex Calling innovations were available for live demos at the Cloud Calling booth in the Cisco Showcase. Thanks to all of you who stopped by – we were thrilled at the enthusiasm from the Cisco community. If you didn’t have a chance to visit us, you can learn more about our demos here.

We were excited to share our latest and powerful integrations highlighting our support for the open ecosystem. Attendees loved our new Webex Calling for Microsoft Teams landing page that brings the complete Webex Calling experience, including voice and video calling, mid-call controls, and our award-winning artificial intelligence-powered background noise removal to Teams users. Our new Teams experience is currently in beta and will be generally available soon.

We also met many attendees that have invested in the Google productivity ecosystem and were interested in Webex Calling for Chrome. We demoed our latest features including voicemail transcription and call transfer, along with our powerful calling features like directory search, mid-call controls, and click-to-call. We received tremendous feedback for this integration and its ability to support Chrome desktop on any platform, including ChromeOS. Voicemail and transfer are currently in beta and will be generally available in July.

Customer experience was a hot topic at Cisco Live and Group Call Management, a call center that’s included out of the box with Webex Calling, was one of our most popular demos. Attendees were impressed by the Group Call Management agent experience that’s seamlessly integrated into the Webex App and the easy administration experience, which enables organizations to easily add agents to a queue in seconds. Group Call Management is available now and we’ll have many new customer experience features to announce in the near future.

Our growing partner ecosystem

Webex Calling partners help organizations to move seamlessly to the cloud and quickly deploy features that improve security, manageability, and the customer and user experience. Cisco Live gives our partners an opportunity to showcase their solutions and we’re honored that so many of our partners attended the event.

  • CallCabinet, Dubber, and Imagicle provide essential recording for compliance, training, and quality assurance.
  • Bandwidth, NTT and Tata Communications are just a few of the 20+ Certified Calling Providers that deliver flexible PSTN connectivity through our Cloud Connect for Webex Calling program.
  • Zello provided attendees with live demos of their push-to-talk app that integrates with Webex single-sign-on for instant, mission-critical communications with essential frontline workers.
  • Variphy recently launched support for Webex Calling for complete CDR reporting and call analytics.
  • Webex Salesforce integration enables users to easily place Webex Calls, schedule Webex Meetings, create Webex Spaces, or sync Webex Webinars in Salesforce. It can now be easily installed and managed from the Salesforce Appexchange.

Our partner ecosystem is healthy and continues to grow. Check out hundreds of integrations available on the Webex App Hub.

Immersive sessions

The Cisco Live calendar was packed with over 30 Webex Calling sessions. I’m sure that many of you couldn’t attend them all, so be sure to check out our on-demand library where many sessions will be accessible for replay.

On June 27, the Webex Calling team will also host a webinar highlighting migrations from UCM to Cisco Cloud Calling. You can sign up here.

So long Las Vegas

After four days packed with announcements, interactive demos, and the Cisco Live Celebration headlined by Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, it was time to head back home. The Calling team is leaving with renewed energy and enthusiasm that our industry recognized collaboration portfolio of products are making an immense difference for businesses of all sizes.

I’d like to thank all of you who visited us this year at Cisco Live and engaged us in a conversation or a product demo. We sincerely appreciate you and your time at this very busy event.
