Expanding our Capabilities with Samsung and Microsoft

Announcing new videoconferencing solutions that power hybrid work.

Webex by Cisco works well with others. Why? Well, we know that 85% of our customers are using two or more meeting platforms. And for just about every company everywhere, it takes a myriad of collaboration tools and programs to keep the business running. So, at Cisco, we’ve committed to building devices that are interoperable with the software and hardware tools that our customers love. It comes down to a commitment to support our customers’ choices.

The impacts of interoperability go far beyond choice, however. We’re protecting our customers’ existing investments by building devices that work with your existing environment, like Room Bars and integrated devices that support your existing displays. It also gives our customers better visibility of their environment and more dynamic management capabilities, like managing and troubleshooting screens and peripherals in Control Hub. With implications for choice, management, and investment protection, interoperability is a clear win for our customers— and it sets Cisco Devices apart in the market.

Expanding our capabilities with Samsung and Microsoft

Today, we are expanding our collaboration with two industry leaders, Samsung and Microsoft, to bring better experiences to our mutual customers. With a collective vision to enable seamless, immersive meetings for everyone, Cisco’s Room Kit EQ supports Samsung’s newly unveiled 105” Smart Signage, featuring a 21:9 aspect ratio and 5K resolution. For our mutual customers with Microsoft, Samsung’s new and sizable display optimizes the Front Row layout on Cisco Devices for Microsoft Teams Rooms. Together with both Microsoft and Samsung, we are excited to bring immersive, inclusive video conferencing solutions to our customers – experiences that eliminate the impact of distance.

Further expanding our capabilities with Microsoft, the Front Row Layout will be available on all of Cisco’s certified Microsoft Teams Rooms devices – like our newly announced EQX, supporting dual 65-to-75-inch Samsung Cisco Certified displays and multiple deployment options. And we do this for a reason – giving our customers choice in platform, in deployability, and even in displays- we seek to make it possible for every customer to enable AI-powered video in any room, at scale. That is the power of Cisco, and the power of “working well” with our incredible partners.

Better visibility into your workspaces – Samsung screens and all.

Of course, all Cisco devices are manageable through Webex Control Hub. Now generally available, our customers have access to a holistic and rich overview of their workspaces. For each of their deployed rooms, customers can see room occupancy data, location details, scheduling and calling services, the devices installed, whether they’re online, and troubleshooting and diagnostics information.

For third-party peripherals like the Cisco Certified Samsung 105” Smart Signage, featuring a 21:9 aspect ratio and 5K resolution, customers can even click on the screen and see details like serial number, screen size, resolution, and frame rate. Completely remote, IT teams can understand if the room is set up per requirements with powerful data about the room.

Devices with Powerful Collaboration AI

For our devices team here at Cisco, our north star is to eliminate the impact of distance for our customers. How do we do it? We’re building devices that make it feel like you’re in the room, from wherever you are in the world.

Using a Quad Camera, our devices see what is happening in the conference room, interpreting powerful video data. With a Table Microphone Pro, the devices hear collaboration interactions and collect rich audio data. A Codec running RoomOS – the brain of our solution— interprets the video and audio data collected. In this way, Cisco devices capture the rich, human interaction happening in the room, and interpret it into the virtual space. RoomOS is the most capable AI and machine learning platform for workspace collaboration, supporting future-of-meeting experiences like cinematic meetings.
