Every year, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated on December 3rd and this year’s unique theme is “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress”. This theme emphasizes the importance of creating societies where people with disabilities are fully included in achieving social progress for everyone.
At Webex, we continue to bring accessibility, usability, and inclusivity to the forefront of our collaboration technology to ensure everyone can hear, and be heard, see and be seen, and feel included in the conversation, everywhere.
Webex Suite is filled with innovations and enhancements that can be personalized to meet individual needs, styles, and preferences to make collaboration accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities and backgrounds. Let’s take a look at some of these innovations:
AI Powered Insights using AI Assistant
The Cisco AI Assistant in Webex supports inclusive collaboration and finding key information from your meetings has never been easier, or more inclusive! The Cisco AI assistant with Ask Me Anything allows for users to get insights on their recorded meetings in Webex. Instead of sifting through entire meeting recordings, users can now simply ask specific questions, such as “What were my action items from last week?” or “Summarize the critical points about Feature X.” The AI Assistant quickly delivers clear, concise responses tailored to your needs, whether you’re searching for a single meeting or drawing insights from multiple conversations.
This breakthrough is particularly valuable for users with cognitive disabilities or neurodiverse ways of processing information. By minimizing information overload and presenting content in a way that’s easy to digest, Webex ensures that everyone can access and understand the details that matter most to them. The result: a more accessible, supportive, and efficient collaboration experience for every user.
Plus, with expanded search and insight capabilities across popular enterprise apps like Amazon Q, CoPilot, and Glean, Webex makes it simple to find the information you need, wherever you work, empowering all users to stay connected and engaged. When you enable a third-party provider like Glean, AI assistant can seamlessly integrate with it. AI Assistant can search across all your available data sources, to deliver comprehensive answers, ensuring you always have the information you need right when you need it.

We are expanding the AI Assistant’s capabilities to deliver insights across AI-enabled Webex meetings or calls. Additionally, we plan to make these insights accessible through our agents and connectors, seamlessly integrating with popular applications used in your organization, such as Copilot, Agentforce, and more. This approach helps reduce barriers for all users, supporting cognitive and neurodiverse needs through smarter, more accessible search and insight capabilities.
Auto detection of Spoken Language in Meetings
Webex is making meetings even smarter and more accessible with the new Auto Detection of Spoken Language capability coming in December! Now, Webex Meetings can automatically recognize when the spoken language changes, switching captions and transcripts in real time, usually within just 5 to 10 seconds. This innovation takes the pressure off hosts and cohosts, who no longer need to remember to manually update language settings during a conversation. Instead, the technology does the work for you, ensuring that everyone receives accurate captions and transcripts as the meeting unfolds.
This seamless auto-switching not only helps participants stay engaged in the moment but also guarantees accuracy for all features that rely on transcripts, from post-meeting summaries and action items to accessible meeting records. Gone are the days of incomplete or confusing transcripts caused by missed language updates; now, every user can benefit from clear, reliable meeting information.
Note: Auto detection supports the existing spoken languages available in Webex Meetings, delivering a more inclusive and consistent experience for global teams.
Example Applications:
- Multilingual teams can switch languages mid-meeting without losing transcript accuracy.
- Hosts and cohosts can focus on the conversation instead of technical settings.
- Action items and summaries remain clear and accurate for everyone, regardless of the language spoken.
Automatic spoken language detection helps reduce cognitive load and supports accessibility, making collaboration smoother for all participants.

New Languages added with Arabic, Danish & Turkish and All Spoken Languages released for paid customers for more accurate transcripts and captions!
We’re excited to announce that Webex continues to expand its language support, with Arabic, Danish, and Turkish now available for transcripts and captions, along with the release of all spoken languages for paid customers. This update ensures that more people can participate fully in their own language, breaking down communication barriers, and making meetings more accessible for everyone. By offering more accurate transcripts and captions in additional languages, Webex empowers diverse teams to connect, collaborate, and contribute, no matter where they’re located or what language they speak. These enhancements underscore our commitment to inclusion, ensuring every voice is heard and understood in the flow of work.
Organizations can support a wider range of global employees and customers, and accurate captions and transcripts promote participation for those who rely on accessible meeting content.
Speech to Speech is coming soon!
At WebexOne, we unveiled our latest innovation: speech-to-speech translation, a breakthrough that takes real-time meeting translation to the next level. With this new capability, spoken words are translated and delivered as natural-sounding audio in another language: instantly and seamlessly. This advancement goes beyond traditional text captions or transcripts, allowing participants to hear conversations in their own language and engage more naturally in the flow of discussion. Speech-to-speech translation breaks down communication barriers for multilingual teams and makes meetings more accessible for everyone, including those who process information best through listening. By delivering accurate, real-time audio translations, Webex empowers all users to participate fully, fostering true inclusion and equal access, regardless of language.
These are just a few examples of our innovations to enable a more inclusive, accessible collaboration experience for all. There’s more to come. We are committed to making collaboration accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities and backgrounds.
