James Arias is a 30-year technology veteran and is currently a Senior Product Manager in the extended Webex Calling team, having worked with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and other calling applications since the 2000’s.
James oversees the UCM platform layer, which contains a lot of behind-the-scenes details that make Collaboration solutions tick ... server/OS/virtualization support, scalable architectures, upgrade improvements and business continuity solutions. James also regularly consults with customers and partners on infrastructure modernization, upgrades and cloud migration.
James is the product owner for the Cisco Business Edition 6000/7000 and Expressway CE appliance product lines, which provide simplified packaged Collaboration solutions for Calling-centric deployments. He built the Business Edition 7000 from inception to an installed base of tens of thousands, and has led solution efforts like UC on UCS and UC on HyperFlex that support millions of Calling users in both on-premises and Webex Calling deployments.
Before joining the product team, James was in technical sales for Cisco contact center applications, and prior to Cisco held various IT positions supporting legacy and IP networks, network management applications and call center systems. James likes to leverage this broad experience to help customers tackle business and technology complexity within their Calling solutions, and create actionable strategies to reach their Calling goals.
James brings decades of experience across multidisciplinary pre-sales technical support, systems design, solution testing, product management, packaging, sales and channel partner enablement, and supply chain.
James has a B.S.E.E from the University of South Florida and lives in central Florida with his wife and two daughters. When he's not working, you'll find him gaming or following his favorite volleyball teams.
