Webex Hologram, the industry’s first photorealistic 3D collaboration solution for enterprise customers, was recognized as the Best Collaboration Tool at the AWE USA 2024 conference Auggie Awards ceremony on June 19.
The conference, held this year in Long Beach, Calif., and hosted by Augmented World Expo (AWE), is among the largest XR industry events in the world and showcases the most exciting and innovative AR/VR work around the world.
Webex Hologram allows customers to be together, even when they are miles apart. It lets co-collaborators observe, design, and manipulate 3D content, which lends itself to use cases in manufacturing, engineering, onboarding, and training, among others.
The tool consists of a hologram capture device, Webex cloud services, and the Webex Hologram app, which runs on an augmented reality headset device. The capture device features a 12-camera array and supports combined 2D and 3D 1:1 or 1:many meetings. Webex Hologram is headset agnostic and works with headsets such as Magic Leap, Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and HoloLens.
“Hybrid work is no longer limited to flat screens, slide sharing, and video conferencing,” says Cullen Jennings, CTO/Fellow, who leads the Cisco team that created Webex Hologram. “Webex Hologram allows you to experience meaningful 3D collaboration and co-presence so that you can create, innovate, and do hard work together, even on opposite sides of the globe.”
