Last week, I had the privilege of joining thousands of developers, architects, IT leaders, partners, and customers at AWS re:Invent—a week full of big announcements, hands-on innovation, and conversations about the future of AI and cloud technology.
This year felt especially meaningful for me. Expanding Connected Intelligence with Cisco AI Assistant + AWS
Our partnership with AWS goes far beyond global scale. Together, we’re making Cisco AI Assistant more powerful, more flexible, and more aligned to how modern organizations get work done—connecting people with people, people with AI, and AI with other AI. We call this Connected Intelligence: a smarter, more seamless way to work across every workflow.

Today, Cisco AI Assistant already helps users capture notes and action items, summarize messages and meetings, and stay focused on what matters most. With our integration with Amazon Q Index, we’re extending those capabilities across the entire enterprise. Instead of limiting insights to collaboration data, Cisco AI Assistant can now tap into information from systems like Salesforce or Jira—all surfaced instantly through natural language. So if you’re preparing for a customer call, you can simply ask, “What’s the latest on Project Nova?” and Cisco AI Assistant will gather the details you need, no context switching required.
We’re also partnering with Amazon Bedrock to give customers greater flexibility in selecting the right large language model for their needs. In a fast-moving AI landscape, choice matters—which is why organizations can now benefit from models from Anthropic, Llama, Mistral, and more.
Together with AWS, we’re delivering AI that adapts to every customer’s unique environment—unlocking more value from their existing tools, and turning intelligence into real productivity.
AI That Strengthens Customer Experience and Employee Impact
One of the most powerful applications of AI today is improving customer experience—helping businesses deliver fast, consistent service even with limited staff, while empowering employees to focus on the moments that truly matter. Our partnership with AWS brings these advantages directly to Webex customers.

Organizations can now seamlessly integrate Amazon Lex Virtual Agents with Webex Contact Center, creating an intelligent, conversational experience that reduces wait times and improves customer satisfaction.
In locations that don’t require a full contact center—such as retail stores, clinics, or branch offices—AI Receptionist for Webex Calling provides an always-on, always-helpful virtual front desk solution, developed in collaboration with the Amazon GenAI Innovation Center.
AI Receptionist uses advanced natural language and generative AI technology to answer calls, respond to questions, and complete tasks like scheduling or call transfers. By handling routine inquiries, it frees employees to focus on complex, high-value engagements that drive better outcomes for customers and teams alike.
