Webex recognized as a leader for Collaborative Meeting Services

As the business world adapts to hybrid ways of working, digital collaboration and communication will remain a critical component of how teams get work done and move their business forward. Here at Webex, we’ve been working hard to develop features and capabilities to create collaboration experiences that are equitable, secure, and intelligent to help businesses of all sizes take advantage of the opportunities hybrid work affords, as well as tackle the challenges it creates.

Today, we’re excited to share that we have been recognized as a leader in the Omdia Universe for Collaborative Meeting Services 2022 report. Omdia recommends Cisco as a collaboration vendor for enterprise businesses that are “embracing hybrid work and want to drive employee experience through your communication and collaboration offering that tightly integrates hardware and software.”

“The Collaborative Meeting Services will continue to play a pivotal role in connecting a dispersed workforce as enterprises transition to hybrid working. These services not only need to offer superior audio and video experience for all meeting participants but must also facilitate team creativity, deep collaboration, and employee well-being to support the new normal,” says Prachi Nema, Principal Analyst at Omdia. “Vendors must rapidly innovate to incorporate these capabilities while keeping service quality at the center of the offering. Cisco excels on all these fronts, with its Webex platform scoring at least 75% across all features, AI-enabled capabilities, customer experience, and strategy and product roadmap in the Omdia Universe.”

We are also recommended for businesses that are looking for a vendor “with a comprehensive feature set and an integrated portfolio for webinars, meetings, events, calling, and team collaboration.”

Where Webex stands out according to Omdia Universe

Omdia specifically called out our hardware and software integration as our greatest strength. Cisco is the only vendor that has a full array of hardware devices, from webcam to entire conference room systems, which provide best-in-class video conferencing experiences with Webex apps. At the same time, we recognize the fact that many enterprise businesses will want to have multiple video conferencing vendors, so we designed our latest devices to interoperate seamlessly with third-party video conferencing providers, including Microsoft Teams.

Omdia recognized our scale and platform flexibility as our second greatest strength. We provide the option for customers to host our solutions completely on-prem, completely in our cloud, or a mix of the two, with hybrid deployment options. Our hybrid options can also address concerns about security, privacy, and performance for certain industries and use cases.

Although Omdia didn’t discuss it, we also have 47 of our own data centers plus access to many more public clouds all over the world. This helps us provide unmatched real-time media performance, failover and disaster recovery, and compliance with many regional and national data residency laws and regulations.

Finally, Omdia recognized Webex for our single pane-of-glass operational management approach through our Control Hub portal, which provides an “intuitive end-to-end admin experience for meetings, messaging, calling, and devices.” With hybrid work, the complexity of managing a widely distributed workforce increases dramatically.

At Webex, we have always believed that collaboration technology should be easy to use and easy to manage. Our Control Hub portal provides:

  • Real-time and historical analytics and reporting tools.
  • Easily configurable policies that can be set from individual users to the entire organization.
  • Proactive alerts and troubleshooting tools to quickly diagnose and resolve quality issues.

Digital collaboration, video conferencing, and communications tools are some of the most important investments businesses make, and they rightfully expect their investments to deliver exceptional experiences for their end users, ease of management for their IT departments, and business outcomes that align with strategic priorities such as hybrid work.

Webex understands this and has built a comprehensive platform that is enterprise-grade and ready for the challenges and opportunities of hybrid work.
