Webex Continues to Attain Global Compliance with Spain’s ENS

The Webex Suite now meets Spain’s Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS) High compliance requirement, the Spanish government’s most rigorous and stringent level of security controls and processes. By leveraging the Cisco Cloud Controls Framework (CCF) along with extensive previously attained security approvals, Webex continues to demonstrate its successful security and privacy controls. This accreditation is another of many regulatory policies and laws with which the platform complies including GDPR in Europe, IRAP in Australia, and ISMAP in Japan. Webex built-in security provides the highest protection available for cloud collaboration platforms.

Spain’s National Security Framework

The ENS is a law enacted to build trust between public organizations (government entities) and their service providers, by validating access, integrity, availability, authenticity, confidentiality, traceability, and preservation of data, information, and services. This law applies to all cloud service providers who provide services to public organizations and government agencies in Spain. Spanish ENS has 3 impact levels: low, intermediate, and high. The goal is for Cloud Service providers to implement effective security controls in the cloud and on premises, in compliance with Spanish and EU security and privacy standards.

Webex Security Built In

Cisco CCF is a comprehensive set of international security compliance and certification requirements collected into a single framework for meeting various compliance requirements throughout the world. CCF enabled Webex to use a “build-once-use-many” approach, leveraging much of the processes and evidence collected as part of other assessments to streamline the Spanish ENS High assessment. Because of Cisco’s policy to design security and privacy into every product and feature from inception throughout the development lifecycle, Webex was able to meet Spanish ENS High. Having completed numerous policy and security compliances throughout the EU and globally, made the assessment process much faster and more efficient. Additionally, Webex data centers are equipped to keep data local, preventing personal data from being sent to other regions of the world and protecting valuable information. New EU customers have their data only in the EU region, and administrators can see where their organization’s data is stored in their Control Hub.

Webex Suite

Comprised of Webex App, Messaging, Webex Meetings, and Webex Calling, the Webex Suite is a comprehensive collaboration solution for any organization, providing flexible, staged paths to the cloud for on-premises Cisco and third-party customers. Since many organizations intend to implement cloud services, they need confidence that their cloud platform of choice has the security posture, feature set, and transition options to move to the cloud with confidence and without compromise. Webex customers can count on end-to-end encryption and verified identity, support for personally managed devices on-network and off-network policies, lobby controls, and visual security indicators like encryption badges for external users. For customers who need extra security measures, Cisco Webex Suite provides options for customer-hosted encryption keys on-premises with Hybrid Data Security and a cloud-based, bring-your-own-key (BYOK) option.
