Unveiling powerful Webex Suite innovations at WebexOne 2024

Today, at WebexOne—our premier annual event—the Webex Suite team unveiled exciting innovations that are revolutionizing how the modern workforce collaborates and connects. Here are some of the standout announcements from the team.

Strong Webex Suite AI momentum

Earlier this year, we announced the general availability for some of our most anticipated AI features including Webex AI Codec and Cisco AI Assistant. We, along with our customers have been using Cisco AI Assistant for months, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. I am excited to share that today, AI Assistant has been enabled for 300M+ meeting minutes and is being used multiple times per week to summarize meetings, and translate and rewrite messages.

We haven’t stopped innovating and are excited to share our latest innovations that are built to make the most of every interaction and ensure everyone feels included.

AI Assistant for Webex Calling

AI Assistant will soon be available in Webex Calling – a powerful addition to our available recorded call summaries feature. We’re leveraging AI Assistant throughout your calling workflow, to ensure that no detail of an important conversation is ever missed. With AI Assistant for Webex Calling you’ll be able to:

  • View call transcriptions, summaries, and action items during live calls
  • Share summaries and action items when transferring a call
  • Review summaries in the Webex App post call (now generally available)

AI Summary Translation now expanded to Webex Meetings

Message and summary translation in Webex spaces has been one of the highly used features in Messaging and is loved by our customers. In the last few months, 330K+ messages have been improved with AI Assistant. Soon you will be able to translate AI-generated meeting summaries during and post meeting into 120+ languages.

Identify each speaker in the meeting

When joining meetings with your colleagues from the same room, you’ll now be able Identify the name of the right person in meeting summaries, instead of seeing the conference room name, ensuring every voice is heard.

Share AI-generated summaries into 3rd party apps and tools

You can now take your AI-generated summaries beyond the meeting and move work forward by easily exporting recaps into 3rd party tools and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Copilot and Slack.

AI-generated polls

Imagine being able to generate custom-made polls based on your presentation content with just one click. That’s right! Coming soon, Slido’s new AI feature will seamlessly analyze your Microsoft or Google presentation and suggest polls tailored to your content, making it easier than ever to boost participant engagement. We can’t wait for you to try it.

AI-generated Vidcast

Coming soon! Leverage the power of AI with Vidcast to effortlessly upload any PowerPoint or PDF. Our AI seamlessly transforms the content into a professional and engaging Vidcast. Users can define the tone, edit the script, and choose from a variety of options tailored to their needs. Even more you can translate your video into several languages, making communication more inclusive and effective.

AI Assistant for Webex now available on Apple Vision Pro, iPad, and iPhone

The AI Assistant for Webex is now available on Apple devices, boosting productivity with AI-driven features like meeting catch-up, automatic summaries, writing assistance, and more—all seamlessly integrated into your preferred device. Whether you’re using an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Vision Pro, the Webex app brings all these advanced AI tools to all your favorite mobile devices.

AI Assistant for Webex, on Samsung Foldables and Tablet devices

Whether you’re on the go or working from a remote location, you can now experience a new level of AI-powered features with AI Assistant in the Webex app, purpose built for Android—you can improve productivity by catching up on meetings, getting summaries, translations, writing assistance, and more.  Now available on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Tab devices.

Connecting millions with Webex Calling

Calling remains central to how we connect and collaborate, and we are excited to announce that we have over 16 million+ Webex Calling users across 180+ markets globally covering 95% of the world’s GDP. Earlier this year we launched Webex Calling in India in partnership with Tata Communications, as well as Webex Calling and Contact Center solutions in the United Arab Emirates and South Africa with regional media presence. We also launched a second data center in the UK, located in Manchester. Later this year we will launch the Webex Suite in Saudi Arabia with two new data centers.

We’ve also rolled out a completely refreshed lineup of phones called the Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series. Learn more about why businesses of all types rely on Webex to meet their on-premises, hybrid or cloud calling needs.

Webex Go – now included with Webex Calling

Our industry-first Webex Go solution will soon be included with the Webex Calling Professional License for no additional fee. We’re also providing customers with additional flexible connectivity options through our Certified Mobile Calling Providers. Soon, Webex Go customers can select mobile connectivity through AudioCodes, CallTower, PureIP, NTT, Nuwave, and Tata Communications.

Webex Go is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, and France. Over the next year, we’ll expand our geographic coverage to new markets in Europe and Americas regions through our Certified Mobile Calling Providers including: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Poland, Spain, and Sweden.

Elevate the customer experience with Webex Calling

Calling is central to the customer experience, and Webex Calling is designed with this focus in mind. Over the past two years, we have built customer experience tools directly into Webex Calling that enable businesses to empower any employee – including non-traditional agents like knowledge workers, mobile workers, or frontline staff – to service customers without the need of a separate contact center solution. Today, we’re excited to announce that there are 100,000+ agents using the Webex Calling platform globally.

Many of our customer experience tools, like voice queues and skills/priority-based routing are included with the Webex Calling Professional License. For more sophisticated customer experience requirements, we offer Customer Experience Essentials, which includes agent, supervisor, and analytics experiences built into the Webex app for a seamless experience across devices.

We are now excited to announce that Customer Experience Essentials is now available in Webex Wholesale and Webex for Government. We have also enabled additional features like native call recording, agents bounced call policy, distinctive ringing and configurable agent notification tones to Supervisors since the initial launch, with support for wrap-up codes and queue-based recording coming soon.

We have a Unified PSTN platform that supports both Webex Calling and Contact Center with flexible PSTN options including Local Gateway, Cloud Connect for Webex Calling and Cisco Calling Plans. This includes support for high volume calling environments through service numbers. Recently, we also added Service Number support to Cisco Calling plans.

Webex for Apple CarPlay

Webex Calling is now available for Webex for Apple CarPlay. An Industry first, you can use Siri to call a Webex contact or respond to messages hands-free. Easily view your upcoming meetings and your recent calls, and join with a single touch—all in a safe, audio-only mode designed for your driving convenience.

Powerful partnerships powering hybrid work

Elevate Calling with Webex partners

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with AT&T Business, which is now a Certified Calling Provider for Webex Calling. This collaboration will simplify the migration to the cloud for our U.S. customers, utilizing AT&T Business’ Cloud Voice service for a seamless transition. AT&T Business joins over 30 Certified Calling Providers for Webex Calling that offer service in 60+ markets globally.

Cisco and Verizon are also expanding their partnership through the Webex Wholesale route to market. Business Digital Voice with Webex delivers a powerful, cloud-based communication solution tailored for small to medium-sized businesses. Business Digital Voice with Webex is coming in 2025 to customers in the United States.

Elevating broader experiences with AI Assistant Partner Ecosystem

We’re also expanding the AI Assistant by giving users the ability to:

  • Automate workflows through integrations with enterprise apps including Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, and more.
  • Integrate with Glean, enabling mutual customers to enhance discussions and speed up decision-making with its knowledge graph and connectors including Outlook, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
  • Choose the Large Language Model (LLM) that best fits their needs with Amazon Bedrock.
  • Share summaries and recaps across third-party platforms including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Copilot, and Slack.

Webex Control Hub – Helping IT become superheroes

At Webex, we want to make it easier for the IT Admins by providing all the rich insights in one place for ease of administration and management. Administrators can manage all workloads from Webex Control Hub. Further we are making administration across multiple workloads easier through Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and custom admin roles. User Management, Calling and Devices custom admin roles will be available soon.

Webex Control Hub also integrates seamlessly with other Cisco solutions, such as Cisco ThousandEyes to gain insights on network usage and availability, Cisco Meraki for wireless switching and security, and Cisco Spaces to leverage location services for real-time office occupancy. These integrations enable unmatched insights across various aspects of network, security, and IoT.
