Webex launches additional data centres in Canada, expanding privacy options for regulated industries
In spring, Webex will expand its presence in Canada, launching new data centres in Toronto and Montreal to provide Canadian customers with data residency, failover and disaster recovery for Webex Meetings and associated customer data. These new data centre additions will complement the existing Webex Calling data centre in Canada, providing a comprehensive in-country collaboration solution.
Our Canadian customers count on us to protect users, content, applications, and devices using a variety of stringent internal measures and to meet Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) privacy law, among other legislation, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Now, with additional in-country data centres, Webex will be able to further support our customers with sensitivity to data residency, like those in the public sectors in British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Quebec, as well as those in the healthcare and financial sectors.
The new data centres will provide in-country data residency and redundancy for Webex Meetings. User generated content, such as files and recordings, and troubleshooting data will be processed and stored in Canada.
