I am amazed at the incredible things people do with our technology. They are scorching new records on raceways, working to ensure no organization faces a crisis alone, and bringing interactive education to Earth’s most remote indigenous communities. They are even helping lay the foundation for when humans leave Earth, so they aren’t leaving home behind.
People are connecting humanity like never before through words, drawings, ideas, and innovations. They are propelling us all forward through a lifetime of shared experiences, knowledge, and victories, one gesture and smile at a time. They are dreamers. They are visionaries. They are all unique and special. I stand amazed and inspired.
Being able to support these trailblazers is why I’m proud to work for Webex by Cisco. We are building the technology and tools that connect people, enable self-expression, and ignite human experience—for everyone, everywhere.
New Technological Frontiers
The young minds, the deep thinkers, and the bold pathfinders don’t have a single place of origin. We are announcing a bold vision for the future with Super Resolution—high-definition video without needing high bandwidth. Just like our People Focus changed the lens on who is seen in meetings, Super Resolution will change the game of how someone can be seen—from anywhere. Super Resolution will ensure people are as sharp as their ideas even in the lowest bandwidth. Think about how powerful this is for rural regions, oceanic vehicles, the new era of autonomous vehicles, or even voyages to the Moon and beyond.
The idea of being authentically seen is vital to us. This is why Webex AI uses the most diverse data sets to recognize different facial feature characterizations, even taking into consideration the appearance of varying hair types. Even the curliest of hair will be front and center when using our virtual backgrounds, and our new Portrait effect adds depth, sharpness, and highlights features without compromising individuality.
We have worked hard to ensure people can say “I got you” in over 13 spoken languages and have it translated into 100 more in close captions. Our gesture recognition engine with newly added gestures allows you to say so much without even saying a word. And soon, we will be able to celebrate each other by simply bringing our hands together and watching our new 3D Effects magic happen!
I’m also thrilled that Webex Calling has reached over 10 million Webex Calling users (and growing!) around the world. We’re also proud to announce that Webex has removed 96 billion minutes of background noise to date, so conversations, discoveries, and epiphanies can happen in a car, in a crowded apartment, or on a noisy open office floor. We’ve brought this into our Cloud Calling, so whether at a help desk or on the road, it’s always clear when saying, “I’m here for you.”
The future is yet uncharted. But there are a lot of people working to make sure it’s a bright one. People dreaming is what drives us here at Webex. Enabling them to be successful is what we are most proud of.
