In April of 2021 Cisco announced the End-of-Sale (EOS) and End-of-Life (EOL) for Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance and Analytics (PCA). When announcing the product EOL, we provided 6 months notice of the End-of-Sale to give customers the time to plan and manage their EOL transition. That time is almost up with the End-of-Sale coming up in October 2021.
PCA provides critical real-time monitoring, proactive troubleshooting, and long-term trending and analytics. It includes monitoring and troubleshooting tools and proactively notifies an administrator of issues, and aids fault detection and isolation with diagnostic tools.
“Administrators must have the ability to continue to monitor and manage their Unified Communications deployments with both existing and future products and software,” says Wade Hamblin – Director of Product Management. “So, they should begin planning their migration and transition to an alternative to PCA now.”
Cisco works closely with Ecosystem partners and there are two potential alternatives to PCA. Vyopta CPM and IR Collaborate, powered by Prognosis, offer real-time UC assurance, performance management, and analytics of voice, video, collaboration, and contact center environments across multi-vendor UC platforms. Both monitor and troubleshoot across the entire UC ecosystem. Vyopta and IR provide intelligence about quality issues and usage patterns to allow for better analysis. Both support Cisco on-premises technologies, and now provide multi-platform monitoring solutions and help to enable a smooth migration from PCA.
Cisco UC customers are encouraged to evaluate one or both of these products as an alternative to or replacement for PCA and thereby future-proof their critical UC monitoring and management capabilities.
Vyopta and IR are now offering special pricing on support contracts for a cost-effective transition for Cisco customers coming EOL on their PCA contracts.
