Webex Desk Series Device With People Focus Utilizing Camera Intelligence

The world of work is dynamic. It is fast-paced, ever-changing, and decisions have to be made on the fly. Ensuring that everyone is seen, included, and able to voice their opinion is essential to building trust and a culture of inclusivity. How do we ensure that everyone is represented in a meeting when we have people joining from room devices in the office, laptops on the go, and personal desk devices at home? With the camera intelligence built into our devices, we can provide an optimized view for everyone with dynamic, smart layout- and camera control options. People Focus

Last year we introduced People Focus on Webex devices. With People Focus, we are using the intelligence built into our cameras to break down the barriers between people working from home and people working from the office, and optimizing precious screen real estate. We create the best view for every participant by doing smart cropping to remove excess floor and ceiling space, making sure that no one is missing out, and no one is left behind. This makes hybrid meetings much better, by allowing remote participants to better gauge the facial expressions and body language of the in-room meeting participants, whilst also making the most out of their screen real estate.

People Focus is a layout option you can use in a Webex meeting, however we are dedicated to providing an inclusive experience for every meeting. We are extending our People Focus camera intelligence with the release of our new camera mode Frames, allowing for inclusive views in ANY meeting – whether that be Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or any other third-party meeting provider. Like People Focus, Frames captures people in a meeting room in the most efficient way, by capturing a condensed view of the people in the room and individually framing them – leaving any blank space out of the view. As this is a camera control option on the device itself, it gives you more flexibility and ownership on how you show up on the far-end, and anyone calling into your meeting a front-row experience.
