The future of work is hybrid. Maybe you are starting off the day at the office, then leaving to pick up the kids or run other errands, answering, and taking meetings on the go, and finishing your last afternoon meetings at home. The Cisco Desk series is uniquely equipped to bring great collaboration experiences at the desk, in shared spaces, or in huddle spaces. And the best of it all – they are designed for both the corporate and the home office. While the Cisco desk series comes with features you already know and love, such as hot desking, digital whiteboarding, virtual backgrounds and noise removal – we are continuously working to elevate your collaboration experience. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some new and upcoming features for the desk series!

Microsoft Teams Rooms

The most important improvement by far is the support for Microsoft Teams Rooms added to the Cisco Desk Pro in the first half of 2023. This MTR mode is perfect for shared huddle spaces or desks.
For individual work, the Microsoft experience on the Cisco Desk Pro will be enhanced in the next coming months with the Microsoft Teams Displays mode where end users can expect to be able to hotdesk, get a personalized experience, leave a note on the screen lock or to dictate a Teams chat reply.

Dual Display

Multi-monitor setups are ideal for knowledge workers, allowing them to seamlessly expose multiple workflows. We are pleased to introduce the ability to connect an extra monitor to the Desk Pro over HDMI (scheduled for October 2023). By doing so, end users can benefit from the following use cases:

  • either extend your meeting experience over the 2 screens,
  • or multitask on your local computer content while in a meeting on separate display,
  • or mirror to an external display.

Screen Lock

At Cisco security is built-in, not bolted on. As the Cisco Desk series devices are becoming more and more popular in shared and open spaces, we introduced the Desk series PIN Lock capability. Once a device is locked, any sensitive information such as a user’s calendar, recent calls, whiteboards etc. will not be accessible without unlocking. Any meeting notifications will be shown without the meeting subject displayed.

Huddle Spaces Scheduler

The Cisco Desk Pro has been widely adopted not only at individual desks but also in huddle spaces (also called jump rooms) for 1-2 people. It can be placed on a desk, or even attached to the wall to save some space in smaller rooms. As more and more customers deployed their desk devices in shared huddle/jump spaces, it became crucial to add the ability to see the availability and to book it with the Cisco Room Navigator.

Clear the desktop clutter and get all-in-one business-class HD video at any desk or huddle space. Choose between 15-inch, 24-inch, or 27-inch models that are perfect for collaboration. When you connect your laptop they double up as your second screen and make it easy to find and share your work while on a call – the Cisco desk series is your perfect collaboration companion.
