As companies transition their workforce to WFH, more industries are making the move to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in order to deliver a secure and productive experience for their employees at home. VDI technologies increase mobility, security and efficiency, while providing an amazing experience to their users. Organizations choose to deploy VDI technologies to deliver best-in-class media quality and industry-leading collaboration to their users.
The Webex Meetings VDI client doesn’t require any additional Infrastructure such as Cisco Unified Call Manager and Cisco Expressway. All audio and video streams automatically get directed between the VDI thin client and the Webex Meetings Cloud without going through the hosted desktop. The Webex Meetings VDI client keeps media on the edge, and eliminates network bandwidth usage, and lowers data center compute costs while delivering superior real-time audio and video quality.
The Webex Meetings VDI can easily be deployed and is available for Citrix Desktops 7.15, 7.16, 7.17 and 7.18, VMWare Horizon 7 version 7.6, 7.7, 7.8, 7.9, 7.10, 7.11, and Thin Client OS running Windows 10.
VDI continues to be an important part of our collaboration suite and it will continue to be enhanced to increase productivity and deliver a simple and first-class experience to our users.
