The Webex for Inclusive Collaboration series focuses on delivering capabilities for the future of work with inclusive, effective collaboration tools
Solutions for Every User with Webex
This month marks the one-year anniversary of when our definition of “work” changed more dramatically than ever before – and likely forever. The past 12 months have taught us a number of valuable lessons. For example, I’ve learned that Webex noise removal technology comes in handy when my 10-year-old practices her recorder outside my home office. More generally, we have also learned that, for many, remote work is possible – and likely to continue in some hybrid form into the future.
The caveat is that you need the right collaboration solutions to make remote and hybrid work experiences not just possible, but productive and inclusive. We continue to create and deliver Webex experiences that are 10x better than in-person interactions and deliver on the needs of our future of work.
Breaking Down the Language Barrier with Real-Time Translations
Creating an inclusive collaboration experience starts with the most basic element: Making sure all participants are part of the conversation, regardless of their native language. Beginning this month, the real-time translations feature will be introduced as a public preview in the Webex App – allowing users to personalize a more meaningful Webex meeting experience by participating in the language of their choice. With a choice of more than 100 languages (from Afrikaans to Zulu!), the translations feature supports greater engagement and easier communication among meeting participants in real time – ultimately leading to more effective collaboration. See it in action:

In addition to creating a more satisfying experience for users, real-time translations bring a cost benefit as well. According to a recent report from Metrigy, more than 50% of participants look to third-party services to translate meetings into other languages, incurring an average cost of $172 per meeting, per language! Integrating language translation capabilities, as we’re doing with Webex, makes it easy. Not only does it reduce cost, it helps increase productivity and gives a more equal voice to your employees. Raise Your Presentation Game
I’m delighted to introduce the first phase of immersive share, now available on Webex Desk Pro devices. By overlaying the speaker’s image on top of shared content, this functionality enables a more dynamic and engaging presentation experience. Whether you’re pitching your latest product or planning your next quarter, you’ll be front and center with your content.
While many organizations are moving toward cloud-based technology to offer more advanced experiences to employees and more centralized management for their IT leaders, the transition isn’t always fast or easy. That’s why we’re making it easier for organizations to access and enjoy cloud-based collaboration solutions, regardless of whether their current Webex experience is based in the cloud or on-premise.
Hybrid Calling that Eases the Transition to the Cloud
We’re making it easy for organizations to centralize dial plans – connecting PBX and cloud-based calling so that it’s easy for everyone to use simple extension dialing. The new centralized dial plans, trunk and route groups also give calling customers the ability to transition from on-prem PBX to native cloud however works best for their organization – site by site, or user by user. Read more about how we’re gaining great momentum and investing big in helping our customers make a seamless transition to the cloud.
Webex Edge: The Next Phase
Another way we’re simplifying the transition to the cloud is via our Webex Edge for devices. On-premise device users can now tap into intelligent cloud features like advanced mute controls, facial recognition and name labels, host controls, and bi-directional whiteboarding (a personal favorite!).

Maximizing Management Capabilities in Control Hub
Investing in the creation of Webex experiences that are 10x better than in-person interactions is only part of our charge. We’re also laser focused on making sure that IT administrators are able to manage and measure these experiences effectively. Webex Control Hub offers a wealth of capabilities for admins to manage users, services and devices, but like any tool, it’s only useful if you know how to use it!
For organizations who are new to Webex, Control Hub now offer a “getting started” guide to help you navigate common setup tasks in a sequential way and streamline your deployment, using best practices to help you make the most of your Control Hub experience.
Experienced Control Hub users will appreciate the platform’s enhanced report scheduling capability. Admins can now get their most popular and useful reports delivered on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly or monthly) without having to manually run them each time.
And for more complex enterprise needs, we’re continuing to expand our detailed analytics suite with new real-time Video Mesh reporting.
